Laurent founded AlternativeSoft after four years at UBS Wealth Management where he was head of tactical asset allocation. At UBS, he spear-headed and implemented the investment strategies for CHF 110 billion of private client assets, CHF 30 billion for mutual funds and was involved in the construction of the first CHF 6 billion UBS Wealth Management fund of hedge funds. LHe holds a bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA in finance, both from the University of Lausanne and was a professor of economics and mathematics for 2 years in Lausanne, Switzerland. LHis interests include skiing, sports and happy clients.
Ravi develops and validates mathematical models, whilst providing quantitative support to clients. Ravi wrote a thesis on "Portfolio Management in the Presence of Stochastic Volatility". He holds a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Financial Mathematics from King's College, University of London. His interests include technology, gaming, food and bhangra.
Akshay joined AlternativeSoft in 2011.
He provides quantitative support and training to clients and leads all aspects of client relationships, retention and development.
Akshay holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Devi Ahilya University, India and a MSc in Banking and Finance from Queen Mary, University of London.
His interests include Squash, Badminton and Travelling.
Prior to Joining AlternativeSoft, Dominique was Director of Equity and Trading Services for IHS MARKIT, Instinet - an institutional Equity Broker and he also worked for Factset for 7 years. Dominique is fluent in French and holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature, politics and civilisation from the university of Pau in France. His interests include skiing and Rugby and Derivatives trading.
Scott joined AlternativeSoft to open the New York office. He has over 25 years’ experience selling institutional equities and alternative funds placement. He has worked at UBS, Mitsubishi UFJ, Robert Fleming and Baring Securities in NY, London and Tokyo. He holds an MBA from Duke University and a BA from University of Vermont. When not working, Scott can be found is cycling or boating.
Dipesh is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships. Prior to AlternativeSoft Dipesh worked as a Financial Consultant within the regulatory and risk space specialising in Dodd-Frank and MiFID, and as Hedge Fund Investment Analyst in IAM. In 2014 he moved to a family office as an Analyst within their Fixed Income and Equity team, specialising in relative value investing. Dipesh holds the IMC, and a MSc in Finance from Cass Business School along with a BSc (1st class Honours) in Financial Economics. Dipesh is currently studying for CFA level 3. His interests include football, rock climbing, travelling and has recently started playing the piano.
Christos is responsible for providing quantitative financial and technical support. He holds a BSc in Banking and Financial Management from University of Piraeus, and a MSc in Finance with an emphasis on Hedge Funds and Alternative Investments from Cass Business School. Christos is currently studying for CFA level 3. His interests include gym, football and motorbikes.
Michael develops and validates quantitative financial models for our current and prospective clients. Michael wrote his thesis using empirical methods in financial research to provide inflation hedging with a weighted basked of currencies. He holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc(Econ) in Finance & Investment Management from the University of Aberdeen. Michael joined the team in June from Winton Capital's research centre in Oxford.
Pavlo is responsible for developing and validating mathematical models for our current and future clients. Pavlo, in his Bachelor's thesis, studied inflations expectations. He holds BA (Hons) in Financial Management, MSc in Pure Mathematics, and PhD in Mathematics from Royal Holloway, University of London. Previously, Pavlo was a Leibniz Fellow in Mathematical Research Institute of Oberwolfach, Germany.
Alex is responsible for Business Development and Client Relationships at AlternativeSoft. Prior to joining AlternativeSoft, Alex worked at HFM Week and BMI Research in both a Sales and Account Management capacity. He is fluent in French and Spanish and holds a bachelor's degree in Modern Languages from the University of Birmingham. His interests include travelling, technology and sports.
Alex is responsible for Business Development at AlternativeSoft. Prior to joining Alternative Soft Alex worked for a discretionary wealth management firm with $89billion in AUM. Alex holds a bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Exeter. His interests include travelling, skiing, cooking and craft beer.
Saqib is responsible for Business Development, Marketing and Client Relationships. Saqib was at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group with emphasis on Sales and Fund Research for 2 years, and as an Analyst & VP of Sales at Directors Deals for 1 year. He holds a BSc in Business Computing from the University of Westminster and a Post-grad diploma in Finance. He is currently studying for the CFA level 1. His interests include travelling and exploring different cultures, football, motorsports and boxing.
James is a dynamic member of our sales team, creating new connections, and expanding the business. James has a BSc in Biomedical Science from Cardiff Metropolitan University, and he has significant sales experience, gained from his time at BMI research and Fitch Solutions. His interests include Science, Technology, and meeting new people.
Philipp is part of the internal sales team, introducing prospective clients to AlternativeSoft. He holds a BSc & MSc in International Business – Finance from Maastricht University and a MSc in History of Art, Theory and Display from the University of Edinburgh. He wrote his thesis on “Between Beauty and Value – Art as an Alternative Investment”. His interest include finance, art and traveling.
Juan works within the Business Development team, responsible for building relationships with current and prospective clients. He holds a BA in International Development from King’s College London. His interests include sailing, cooking and guitar.
Harry is the newest member of the sales team. He recently graduated, obtaining a BA in Business & Management with a Placement Year from Henley Business School before pursuing a career in the Financial Technology industry at AlternativeSoft. He has extensive experience in sales and client relationship positions within a variety of industries. His interests include skiing, football, travelling and keeping fit.
Mitesh is responsible for the user experience and design of all AlternativeSoft products. He studied Multimedia Technology and Design at Brunel University and graduated in 2009. Mitesh has worked with high profile clients for the past 10 years. His hobbies include playing football, gaming, gadgets and travelling. He lives by the famous quote by Albert Einstien "Creativity is contagious, pass it on".
